Vail Ski Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in the United States. The drive takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours from Denver, depending on traffic and road conditions.
There are two main villages, Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Vail Village offers a lively atmosphere with more restaurants and nightlife options. Lionshead offers a more relaxed and family-friendly environment with easier access to the beginner-friendly slopes.
There are pedestrian streets and walking paths that connect the shops, restaurants, and hotels in the two villages. They also provide free bus service. It should be no problem finding parking as there are parking structures in Vail Village, Lionshead, and Red Sandstone.

For beginner skiers and snowboarders, look for the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19). It will take you to the green slopes, which are the beginner-friendly slopes. It’s a very long slope and can take a while to get to the bottom of the mountain. Be sure to stay with your group as it is easy to go down the wrong slope. Half of our group ended up at Vail Village and the other half ended up at Lionshead Village. Luckily, the free shuttle made it convenient to get from one village to the other.

It’s such a beautiful place to visit, even if you don’t ski or snowboard. Visit vail.com for more information.
Happy Travels!
